SKB I am so very sorry to read your news about Sherbet. She was an amazing little ham with a huge personality. Such a gorgeous girl. Of course you miss such a special one but you gave her such love and care that she lived a long and fulfilled life.
Play well at the bridge Sherbet and find your friends to have fun with.

Thank You Thin Lizzy, cypher and Coco61. Today has been hard going through all Sherbet's supplies, didn't realises how much Hamster stuff I had accumulated since Nov 2007, so it did take longer than expected and still haven't finished yet. I've cleared a few things out but it's hard and emotional going through some of Sherbet's favourite toys, I'm planning to keep her most favourite ones - I got emotional seeing her wooden caterpillar chew which was her absolute favourite wood chew - I'm definitely keeping that.

I hope she having a lot of fun across the bridge. It just so quiet, as Sherbet was very vocal and noisy she liked her opinion to be heard! She was always so happy and had endless amounts of energy. Sherbet picture is up on my bedroom wall alongside all my past hamsters, which is next to where her cage was, so it so nice I can still she her gorgeous face everyday.

I remember the wooden caterpillar lol! Sherbet so loved that! I'm so sure she and Twinkle have met up what with them both being very vocal, happy and very affectionate.
I too found it hard going through Twinkle's stuff because I could smell her.

It's such a hard time sorting through all Sherbets things & they do leave a huge space in our lives when they leave us, we are always sad & have to let grief take it's course but try to look at those photos & remember all the good times she had with you.

I've nearly finished tidying up Sherbet things so far it taken two day, as I was out all day Thursday. It's been hard as I could smell her but also nice cleaning Sherbet's toys as it kept my mind occupied but also has allowed me to remember the many good times we had together seeing certain toys brings back so many good memories which I treasure, but also some good memories of my past hamsters to. It so nice to see photos of her on my wall everyday. But it hard adjusting my daily routine to not having Sherbet here, as Sherbet was my priority as her care always came first.

I'm glad you have so many happy memories to help you through SKB, I can understand how you miss the routine though, when they need so much care toward the end of their lives our days can seem even more empty without all those things to do & think about, it will get easier with time & I always tried to let that be a reminder that I had done everything possible for my little one & feel more positive about it, I hope you can feel something similar.

I found it hard adjusting too without Twinkle and would find myself turning round to talk to her when The Chase came on TV, we would always tune in. Even found myself setting aside vegetables, fruit, chicken and cheese and then realised she wasn't there. It's so hard and I feel for you but, it will get easier. Grief affects us in different ways. I remember seeing a spider in the hall and started laughing as it so reminded me and then bursting into tears. Now when I see a spider I smile.
I found that this forum was a big support too because everyone has been through it and knows how you're feeling. Sherbet will be etched on your heart forever. Big Hugs xxx

Thank You Cypher and Thin Lizzy. I found this weekend strange and hard I think it may be due me finishing cleaning all her supplies. But I was really missing Sherbet company and her snuggling around my neck and my bedroom feels empty and quiet not having her in there. But I did look at pictures of Sherbet which did help me to remember good times and it helped to cheer me up. I always find it hard to change my routine after losing a hamster.
But the support both of you are giving is really helping me and I'm so grateful for your kind words. Thank you

Bless you SKB. Trying to change your routine is hard, because you get so use to it, you could do it with your eyes shut.
I find looking at pics comforting also, I've been looking for a new photo album but, haven't seen anything to my liking.

I'm glad you are finding some comfort SKB & I know the support here as really helped me through these difficult times too.

Lizzy I got these photo albums for mine (one of each as I have so many photos & quite a few hams!) & I really love them.
