Pablo was surrendered in a hamster ball, if you can believe that. Luckily we had a YML cage that someone donated so I set him up in that until I could buy him a larger cage. I was on a tight budget and instead of buying the Kevin 82 which is what I had intended to buy, I settled for the Super Pet First Home For Rats. I think it's a lousy cage for rats but it works well for Pablo.
It's too small, I agree. But it's a palace compared to the YML cage he was being housed in at the shelter.
Pablo doesn't make tunnels. He is a wheeler and a snacker. For now, this is his home. He loves his toilet paper roll and his snack logs.
I have the substrate quite deep because she loves digging tunnels. The other stuff is fairly obvious but if anyone wants to know what something is then just comment

I would love to know how people create the ledges etc. Very interested about doing this for my robo boys!

They are from wooden magazine holders from IKEA, there's a thread somewhere about them. I just took one side off and then glued lollipop sticks around the top to make a fence but some people have created some truly beautiful designs
so finaly I can share a pic of Fenris' cage with you, But I almost didnt as his cage looks super boring compared to yours, you all have such great ideas and I cant think of one xD LOL
