Aww, i get those looks every time i go in to a pet shop! You feel like you need to take them all home with you.
Which Acorn did you go to? I actually find Acorn much better than P@H, their animals seem a lot happier and have bigger cages.

Never heard of Acorn....
Are they just in specific places or a huge chain like p@h?

Lovely new baby hamster, I like banded hamsters and it sounds as though she will tame very easily.
I've never heard of Acorn either, I am currently avoiding going in the pet shop where I got Desi from as I know I will just come away upset but with ten more hamsters!

I think maybe Acorn is just up here in Scotland by the looks of it. There are about 3 over my way that i know of.
They always have a good selection of animals and look like they are well looked after.

Acorn are based in Dunfermline (well Rosyth but next best thing - 5 miles from my house!!!) and have had quite a few Babyboos hamsters over the years
Definitely a sable banded and it should have said on the cage if she was short or long haired - all Acorn's hamsters are from breeders like myself and they are all sexed etc before dispatch to the stores so they will know for definite what coat she has.
Is her coat like Fuzzy Fi was? They are strange in their pricing in that long haired are usually cheaper than short haired so this will also give you an indication.
Acorn do all the Ferplast ranges of cages, Harry Hamster and large Ferplast wheels plus every hamster treat bag and bar you can think of.

Ahh she is lovely. I am sure Conker would be proud that you are opening your home and your heart to a new little girl.
Can't wait to hear more about her (and her own special name)

You could call her Acorn suga. That would be like Conker was named for a Chestnut, Acorn for an oak
Indeed Conker would be pleased that your little one will have as wonderful a life as she did.

Sounds like Acorn Pet Centres are rather good - wish we had them here then. If she comes from a breeder like babyboos that would explain why she's so calm (I also worried that Aero was "too calm" for a petshop hamster and that she might be ill, no sign of it so far so hopefully we'll both be lucky).
Suga, you may already know this but as you asked - Sable is Umbrous Black-eyed Cream - so her brown bits are Sable ( as souffle says with cream roots and cream eye rings) and the white bit is "Banded" as you say.
She's an absolute beauty, Sable is one of my favourite colours (along with Cream and Mink, which is Umbrous Red-Eyed Cream - or the sable version of REC, if you like!). I'd love a Sable banded one day and she looks to have a nice band as well.

She was in a tank labelled short haired - i think but to be honest I can't remember - I will go back and look next week as i got very over excited yesterday when I got her and really can't remember to much about it :-).
She came from Acorn in Hamilton - it's a big store but never busy - P@H get all the business i think. I'm hoping that she has some of Conker's breeding in her - cos as you all know we loved her so much because of her gentle nature....and all the other magic stuff about her.
Her coat is quite fluffy and maybe a bit like Fuzee Fi's - how hopeless am I? She was £7 so does that provide an indication as to whether she is long or short?
