Re: Introducing Nutmeg
I can see her too! Glad she's settled & enjoying her cage, lucky girl getting a detolf, I think you're going to have fun shopping for hammy toys to fill one of those!

Re: Introducing Nutmeg
I'm at a bit of a loss, nutmeg comes out in the early hours of the morning. If we are anywhere near the cage or in the room she will not leave the house. I want to tame her but trying to gently wake and coax with treats isn't working, waiting up for her isn't working to the point we woke her today and she just hid somewhere else. I can't tame her if she won't even come out of her Hut
I'm worried now that if she gets the detolf (2x the size of her current cage) that this will just get worse
Very stressed hamster mummy

Re: Introducing Nutmeg
I wouldn't worry you've had her less than a week correct? Just let her feel at home in her cage then she'll become curious and come out more. She's gorgeous so I can see why you want to see her more

Re: Introducing Nutmeg
I've had her for almost 2, I'm concerned that I gave her 3 or 4 days of being left alone to settle then she got more confident and has now completely hidden. Nothing has happened that would scare her there are no kids in my house it's pretty quiet

Re: Introducing Nutmeg
You've tried the toilet paper up your top for few hours for scent recognition and talking to her quietly?

Re: Introducing Nutmeg
I speak to her everyday and have rubbed my hands in her bedding and substrate. Will also try the toilet trick.
