Re: Charlie's thread
He made me laugh so much trying to climb up the back of the bench - he was so determined - and did pull himself up and over eventually. For no particular reason lol - he could have walked round it.

Re: Charlie's thread
After your nativity picture a couple of days ago I spent a good hour trying to see if there could have been wild hamsters in Bethlehem but Syrian Hammies come from the northern part of Syria bordering Turkey rather than the southern part of Syria bordering Israel.
I LOVE your nativity pictures! I like to imagine Charlie is a little bemused at the teeny human family camping out in his play area: "Hi there, I see that you have no place to rest after the long journey and this teeny human lady just had a baby human but you see I am a Syrian hamster and we are quite territorial ... so ... maybe it would be better if you moved along?"
Charlie is such a handsome boy in all his pictures! He looks very distinguished in his more mature years.

Re: Charlie's thread
Charlie says thanks I think he looks quite distinguished too. Yes I wondered what he was thinking about the nativity set too!

He pulled himself up?? At his age?? Good Grief!! Really had a good chuckle over all the photos. Loved the fearsome face but also his rear end!! A snooze cube by the fire- winter bliss!

Re: Charlie's thread
Yes he is surprisingly active these days. Maybe he was just doing pull-ups for fun, I don't know ha ha.

Re: Charlie's thread
Charlie had a good run around in the living room again tonight. I noticed he sometimes stops and pants a bit, as if he's short of breath, but seems quite active. I suppose it could be his age. He feels a bit bony now. He is chewing his chews a bit and eating so am assuming he is just eating less in old age now as well. Still supplementing. I am having to come to terms with the fact that he is quite an old hamster now - he is enjoying life though and I hope he is still with us on 6th December which is his 100th birthday (in human years - he'll be 2 and a half).
I need to cut a bit out of his labyrinth house to suit his current habit. He is hoarding in the room next to his nest - which is where his potty is. The room beyond that isn't used. So I want to cut the wall out and move the potty along a bit so he has space for both. If I can get OH to get his saw out. I don't like having to throw away his hoard every time I clean out the potty.
