Re: Charlie's thread
Sounds like Charlie had a really lovely evening, great fun & mischief
I know what you mean about the substrate! Mine are always creating mountains or valleys, they should be landscape gardeners or something lol! but do end up making things difficult for themselves sometimes so adding or removing it is part of the daily routine for me now

Re: Charlie's thread
Just loved the description of Charlie's outing and adventure, what a naughty boy he can still be. As for the Fitch mountain, he has a rival here as you said. But, he should have thought about that plop down from outside. Ah well, now he has both an excavation and his floor replaced!

Re: Charlie's thread
Thanks Coco He probably won't like it if I put extra substrate in now either, but I shall have to or he'll struggle to get up the hill to his food bowl!
I'm thinking of changing his cage slightly after the holiday cage week. ie removing some of the roof toys as I don't want him going up there now. It's set up so he can manage but I think he could get caught trying to climb out of the Sputnik. So thinking of removing the sputnik and roof tube, raising the shelves higher (so he can still sit under them but not get up there) and moving his little hammock to the corner under the shelf, like it was on holiday. Will need something hanging from the roof though so it isn't too exposed, maybe a hammock just for shelter underneath. When I get the time and concentration to do it! I don't actually know what he does at night at the moment and whether he does use his levels or not, but he seemed quite happy without levels when we were on holiday.

Re: Charlie's thread
I tried that one before CMB Nice idea though - the Sputnik kept falling over. That was the small one though. The main problem with the sputniks for him now is climbing in or out. He can sit up and pull up with his front paws but can't push up with his back legs. So level toys seem to work better. Where the Sputnik is now, hanging, he can get to through a level tunnel. But to get out at the other end he could get his back legs caught and hurt himself. He can't climb at all really, even a little bit, but he's pretty good on the flat.

Re: Charlie's thread
Lol! It's a game bird like Pheasant. Other half gets given two every year. Just roast bird basically. It was very nice
Charlie says thanks for the kiss Coco - he accepts kisses as long as they are blown he he.
