Melody Hoffen Waterhouse

I thought I'd create a thread specially for Melody. I adopted her on May 13th. Her owner had to keep her in the wardrobe as her cats wanted hold of her. Melody is the first hammy I've adopted/rescued.

She was called Skippy but I decided to call her Melody Hoffen Waterhouse

On the morning I adopted her, I wanted her there and then. Her owner worked night shifts so didn't get in touch until later on in the day. I was just about to go to P@H to get another hammy when they contacted us back

Even though I knew of the minimum cage size, I didn't have a suitable cage to put her in. The cage she was in was the Mill House Hamster Cage. As soon as I got her home, I put her in the Ken Hamster Cage (pictured below) so I could put in a 8" wheel:

Empty because it was taken after moving her into another cage


Finally, after 2 months, I've upgraded her to the Alexander! Her food bowl is just behind the sputnik and can't be seen in the photo





She's a bar chewer but I'm hoping it's because of the lack of space and things to do.

That is great news. The bar spacing must be tiny if she can't get her nose in. Looks like a great cage.
