Gloria and Charlie's Thread
Hi everyone, I recently gave a home to a Syrian Hamster, Gloria
I'm fairly new to the whole thing, but the taming is going well, I'm getting more confident and so is she, we take it a day at a time, but she's a really friendly hamster so we're progressing well. Attached is a picture of my eldest holding her, I don't know who was more nervous, him or me! but everything was fine, she didn't even nip him
ETA; So, can anyone help me to identify what "type" of Syrian Gloria is? please if you need more pictures of her just let me know

Re: meet Gloria...!
She's gorgeous. Really lovely! Such a sweet face .
I absolutely suck at Syrian hamster colours (I raise Campbell's dwarfs) so all I know is she's banded. Let me ask Hekomi, she's good at Syrian colours...

Re: meet Gloria...!
she's so inquisitive and brave for hamster! well braver than what I'm personally used to anyway. She kept hopping up and down off my hand all night last night. She's been out of her cage a few times for a few minutes at a time just we don't overdo it, and also I know there's very little stimulation on our hands for a hammy - any suggestions to keep her happy longer? or am I doing the right thing with just a few minutes at a time at first? we got her last Thurs/Fri and she's taking the taming steps well... maybe I should ask further taming questions in the right section... oops, sorry
Hello Hammy Central! my owner took lots of pictures of me last night, and I just look soooo lovely, but she refused to load them up... something about image heavy posts blah blah I drowned her out chewing on one of those wooden things she's given me! So anyway, I'm hijacking the post about me and adding more pictures of my beautiful self. I was picked up at P@H - not the greatest place to start life I know, but, I know very little about myself, hopefully with my pics someone can help me to identify my Syrian type. I think my owning is thinking I might be Cinnamon... but well, she's new, she's going to make mistakes...
so this is me, you can see my white and slightly darker sides around my pouches...
ever curious, well, who wouldn't be? she left the gate open!
more of my side, my cheek colours are more noticeable here...
I was bribed... with food.... Fooooood, I'm always hungry
and a picture, that my small human drew of me on my first night home! I'm very loved here

Re: meet Gloria...!
She is so cute!! Her color perplexes me. lol She looks golden in some pics and cinnamon in others. Even mink in other parts. lol She has a white under belly. A band, and dark cheek flashes in first pic. Is there a such thing as Agouti golden banded? lol can't wait to see what people say she is. Maybe short-hair cinnamon banded is more likely. I don't know though.

She's pretty orangey in real life, I guess pictures and flashes make for poor colour representation
After mooching around online I found a page which pointed towards her being a short haired, cinnamon.

Re: meet Gloria...!
Is her belly more tan than white in the pictures? Just curious because I have a cinnamon girl but she's solid. She has a cream underbelly.
