Re: Percival Fluffybottoms
I think he likes I his bin cage . So far he still seems unnerved a bit when I go into the room to visit. He eats and runs around, but stops running on the wheel. It's like he's waiting for me to leave so he can go about his evening, but being polite about it. He doesn't really get up until 9:30 or 10pm, which is kind of my bedtime, but I love going in and watching and petting him and giving him treats. Next week I hope to switch to taking him out and giving him treats, so maybe he will want to get attention when I'm around. So far he doesn't seem to mind me too much, but freezes or just goes back to his den when my SO comes in and talks all loud, or when the dog walks by outside the room. He doesn't care about the cat, but the cat is VERY interested in him, so obviously the cat doesn't get near without me there. I hope someday to build a nice secure IKEA hack shelf cage so he can be in one of the common areas of the house, maybe in our bedroom with a red light and use it as night light for us, but until then he has my craft room. So far he's just adorable

Re: Percival Fluffybottoms
I took a video of Perci eating a carrot, and took a screenshot of this frame. I love it, haha!

Re: Percival Fluffybottoms
Thanks everyone! Of course I think he's the cutest thing . Yesterday he abandoned his old nest and made a new one at the other side of the cage. I took that as a sign the first one was getting dirty so scooped it all out... I hope this is normal behavior!

For you or for him? Sorry, couldn't resist! It sounds totally normal, hams often move their nests. I figure whatever makes them happy. Not all do it; of my 4 current Syrians, Bonnie always sleeps in the same spot; Peaches sleeps just about anywhere and I suspect she may have narcolepsy; Maggie usually sleeps in the same spot but has tried a few others; and my new one is likely pregnant so the fact that she sleeps more or less in the same spot (one very deep den) may just be down to not wanting to do any more work digging out new nests while carrying!
