Default I think we are about to lose Peanut

Peanut, who had his third birthday this month, has really gone downhill over the last 24 hours. He is sleeping in his nest continually, his little sides heaving with the stress of breathing it appears. When he has been woken up (he doesn't seem to be getting up by himself) he will not accept water, or eat any food though we did get him to pouch a few sunflower seeds that he then just spat out into his bed
He has suddenly got really flaky dry skin and I know he must be incredibly dehydrated, but he wont accept anything.

I think he is going to leave us. We've had a cuddle and he tried walking on our hands, but very wobbly and shaky. And just went back to bed straight after.

If he is still here tomorrow, we will take him to be pts. He doesn't seem to be in any pain, but he must feel awful if he can't eat or drink anything and I can't bear to watch him just fade away - he is already noticeably looking weak even after just a day I know he has had a long life, but so soon after Bramble, Im not actually ready to let him go.

I'm so sorry to hear this. It's dreadful watching a loved one fade away.

All my love to you, Arti and Peanut - *Big Hugs* (from mum too)

I'm really sorry to hear that Spud's Mum. He's at a wonderful age and although it's hard (especially so soon after Bramble), you can let him go knowing that he's led a brilliant life with you.

Poor little Peanut.

Hugs to you.

Oh, you poor things, so soon after Bramble too must make it even more heartbreaking.

We are thinking of you all,

Thanks everyone, it really helps knowing people understand how hard it is, even when I know we have had him for a lot longer than many people do..

You are all lovely and I am sure Peanut would think so too

Spud's Mum, I'm so sorry for you and Peanut. I wish there was something I/we could do or say to make things easier. Peanut couldn't have wanted for a better mummy and he's had a very happy life and been so loved. Sending you a big hug at this upsetting time.
