I have been posting a few bits about my hammy Toffee who is an OAP 3 years 5 months now. I wanted him to have the best life possible for as long as we have left together. He was starting to look very old worn out and uninterested in things in general. After looking on HC for advice I got him a new one level cage plastic with bars on top so he wouldn't get drafts inside. He has his wheel which he loves but now doesn't have ladders to struggle up. He wasn't eating and after baby food was suggested hes putting it away like there's no tomorrow and has resumed making his little stash corner again. He's beefed up a bit as he was very bony before and his eyes are much more alert. I also adopted a new little girl Tiffany a few weeks ago and this seems to have perked him up a bit too as he can smell and hear her and I'm sure hes trying his best to show her how strong and handsome he still is despite his age bless him. He even woke up this morning to say hello and was chewing his honey treat stick while making little (happy) squeaks. I have attached some pictures before and afters as I'm so proud of my gorgeous little boy and would love you all to see him at his best.

He is so sweet I do feel a bit wicked as he probably thinks he might be in with a chance but he seems happy enough just dreaming about Tiffy lol x

Aw, what a sweetheart. So glad to hear he's doing better! And from what I hear that's a really impressive age to live to for a hammie, let alone keeping as well as he is! Here's hoping you gets lots of quality time with him as well as Tiffany.

Toffee is thrilled with his new celebrity status and I'm so happy he has had the chance to shine like the little star he is XXX Tiffy is getting a bit jealous of all the attention Toffee is getting he had a little run in his ball last night and she was shooting him dagger eyes from her cage. When I put them both out in their balls together shes like a rocket and barrels into him at a million miles an hour so have to give him his own quiet room for his little wombles about.

He really is amazing for his age and it is great he has had a new spring in his step since he moved into his retirement flat
