Re: ***Duck's Thread***
Duck is such a beautiful brown color (Just like my Coco),and he is a cutie. I'm so glad he was taken care of so well while you were away. Kudos to his hamster sitters! We'll just have to pass the word around not to talk about the ...{whispers}... you know what on the bowl.

I just found this tree thing in my bowl!! Then silly mommy says I can eat it - I guessed that cos it was in my bowl! Mommy says the tree thing is called "broccoli". I also got 2 mini bits of spiral things called "pasta"

Re: ***Duck's Thread***
I've just put a shelf in Duck's cage which I was hoping would keep him occupied, but he's STILL bar chewing. I can not get him a new cage now until I have moved ... What can I do to stop him??

Re: ***Duck's Thread***
Hi Pinkneon. Bar chewing seems to be the thing these days with a whole lot of hammies. It appears that the ways most often said to help is #1 weaving cardboard in and out of the bars so Duck will chew that instead. It will have to be replaced when he chews it though. Also, #2 the toys sold for birds that hang from the top of the cage can be hung in front of the spot Duck is chewing to (hopefully) distract him from the bars. #3 You can coat the bars with vinegar and see if that makes him stop. Bar chewing is why I've used tanks for years now. I hate the noise they make chewing the bars. The bin cages with a finer mesh seem to be a good option when you are able to have bigger cages. Hope this helps. By the way, it's nice to have you back

Re: ***Duck's Thread***
The only thing I can think of is to get him a tank or ZooZone when you move :/

Re: ***Duck's Thread***
I know Duck is missing you and you are missing Duck. I really hope they can get you settled somewhere and you can be with him again. It's really rotten to be ill. I spent years in and out of hospitals growing up and my animals were such a source of comfort for me. Duck would probably be your best medicine right now. Thinking of you.

Re: ***Duck's Thread***
She does love you Duck and she thinks of you all the time. I just spoke to her today and she is worrying that you need to be safe. You need to stay in your cage so she won't be afraid for you. She's missing you too little man. It won't be long.
