Well I haven't actually checked her sex. I will try to do soon. I knew males have the longer skirts but i've never owned a lh before so never really put much thought into it.

Well still waiting to try sex her properly, I had a quick look at Ambi and I am very certain Ambi is a She. However since Kiba is still jumpy and I don't have a clear tub big enough to put her in I haven't managed to sex her yet. I have tried but without getting a proper look I actually can't say (Plus don't think the staring at her underside is helping her get used to my hands).

Does her cage have bars? If so you could try luring her up the side with treats and see if you can catch a peek that way. Hope she calms down and you are able to check soon - I'm on tenterhooks! Will you have to change her name if she's male or will he still be Kiba? The jumpiness sounds characteristic of a female at any rate...but only stereotypically so.

Kiba is still in the mini duna right now (I was silly and haven't stocked up on megazorb and forgot to pick up something, most likely carefresh, from p@h today) I doubt I could lure her, she'll happily watch me but doesn't my hands going near her.
I'll probably still call her Kiba (regardless of sex) but hopefully will be able to re-home them (as much as I'd like to keep them 6 hamsters + in what could potentially be my last year at uni could be a bit bothersome but I'll manage if I can't find them a new home).

Well things seem to take a step forward then a leap backwards with Kiba. I did manage to get a quick look at his/her underside (I am beginning to think that Kiba is infact a he, there is a gap between the two openings and I keep thinking I can see small testicles, now my male syrian Muffins testicles are clearly noticeable which I think is whats confusing me). Kiba let me scoop them out their cage and seemed fine to have a small sniff around, I was going to ask for a second opinion from my boyfriend when Kiba decided taking a leap from my hands was the best decision. Back in their cage safely now with some sand and happily cleaning + digging in the sand like nothing happened.

I will try get a picture to ask use to confirm that Kiba is infact a male, however I do think I should get used to saying he and not she.

It would appear for now you have a trans ham! I like that, it's quirky and cool. I have a friend who uses gender neutral pronouns: "Ze" instead of "He" or "She" and "Hir" instead of "His" or "Her". Kiba can promote gender awareness!

*Drum roll* despite the fact I am very sure Kiba is male, I think I have at least a few picture which might help confirm xD.

Now Kiba is lovely, skittish but lovely. And as expected from any hamster I've ever owned hyperactive (I managed to get him crawling over me a bit and he spent his time trying to dig under my arm etc, the longer we took trying to get a picture the more restless he became).
