How long to rest a female
Hi all sorry I have another question.
As you know Christie (SH banded tort) has a litter of 4 babies they are now 3 weeks old today. I will be breeding from Christie again as Mya won't be old enough until a couple of weeks after christie. When we take Christie's babies away at about 5 weeks how long afterwards should she be rested for?

My females have a maximum of 3 litters in their lifetime, though usually 2, and at least 3 months between litters.

I dont know the answer... But I'm glad you asked because I was going to ask this question too. No more than 3 litters of one female in her lifetime though.

I would take the babies away at 4wks sarah. You don't want them interbreeding. What age is Christie? I would aim to breed her again at 8-9months. That would likely give you about 3months rest and she should be fine then.

Hi Souffle we only have one male baby thats it and 3 female babies and we will take him away before then more than likely. Christie is about 6-7 months old now I think. mum has it written down somewhere.
