Guinea pigs?
Does anybody have guinea pigs? Does anybody know if they need wheels? I'm kind of curious

Re: Guinea pigs?
I don't own them, but no, they don't need wheels. As far as I know you can't buy wheels for them either, at least they aren't marketed.

Re: Guinea pigs?
We currently have two Guinea pigs (though we have had more in the past). They don't, and should not use wheels as they can cause serious spinal injury... though they do need a large cage with plenty of space to move around

Re: Guinea pigs?
My three love running about their 3 X 4 C&C cage and climbing on top their Pigloo house.
They also enjoy a romp out doors while contained in a enclosed and upside down C&C pen in the summer months. You also can get them piggie size balls which mine love to pick up and play keep away from the other pigs.

Re: Guinea pigs?
Ours have a large DIY cage (170 x 125cm) with plenty of boredom breakers such as tunnels, bendy bridges, wicker balls, toss toys, forages boxes and cosy items. They also have a treat ball that we put a few of their pellets in.
They come out for playtime everyday for about a hour (sometimes for longer ) They have floor time usually in a playpen or lap time.
Here are some pictures of our Piggies... The Guinea Pigs (Beanie and Bouncer)
