Default Cookie Dog

I feel like I am mentioning Cookie more and more recently so thought I should make him his own thread and share the handsome lad that is my 'Bambino'. He has loads of nicknames from Bobblehound to Cheesestring, I struggle to remember them all and we have had loads of great times together.

He is a rescue dog who has had a pretty rough life with lots of medical conditions. But we always say that no one has told him he is poorly! He has so much spirit and love for everyone, he really is amazing and I can't explain how much we all love him.

He isn't doing too great at the moment, he has allergies so can't eat any commercial dog food, he has quite bad spondylosis which is arthritis on the spine, has arthritis in his hips and just had a tennis ball sized tumour removed along with the lung lobe it was growing in. With all of this you would think that he would be miserable and that we would be in constant tears... Well you can't with Cookie, he is the happiest dog ever.
Through all of this he has remained the daft dog that he is, wanting to play, cuddle, eat everything, and licks me when ever he can. He is such a happy chap and we wont give up until he does.

Cheesestring?! LOL! Amazing how our pets seem to end up with the most creative nicknames

What a lovely dog, some very nice nicknames there too!
How great of you to be helping him so much and giving him the life he deserves, well done!

Thanks, we think he is the most gorgeous dog ever but we might be a tad biased.

He has such an amazing coat, the only thing is that we wanted a picture drawn of him but his coat was a little too complex so it came back a bit odd. We still love it though.

We are so glad to have him. He was supposed to be a family dog for my sister to grow up with, but he attached himself to me (although I didn't want him as I was grieving for my previous dog). It was meant to be and he has been there to support me though everything, he shares the good and the bad with me and very sensitive to my mood. He moved out with me 3 years ago and we have never looked back.

He is a bit of a mummy's boy but he also loves his daddy and everyone else, and I mean everyone!

Yes, and he has a collection. He also responds to each one slightly differently. He knows when we say Cheesestring to run because were going to chase him to grab his tail, it's so hard to catch because when we play this it wags to fast!

He sounds like such a character and I am glad that his health issues aren't holding him back
