Tiger Eye (warning, he's a baby snake)
I cleaned out my baby Royal Python, Tiger Eye, this morning. He's in mid shed, but despite that he let me have a quick hold for the first time! So I quickly took some photos. He was fine with me, and even had a wander up my arm : )
Some of you might have read that my eleven year old Corn Snake, Pandora, died a little while ago. It was a real shock and really upset me, I missed her so much.
My mam offered to take me to a breeder in Darlington to have a look-see... and well, I brought home my new baby boy : ) (and she brough home a baby Corn Snake too! X ) )
Tig was five weeks old on Thursday. He's eaten his mouse every week and so far I haven't had any problems with him. So I'm really pleased.
Would you like to see him?
Not so good, but here's his little head...
And in my hand...
Tig say's "hi"...
Isn't he beautiful? Even more so now he's shedding, he has such lovley markings. I love my baby boy : )

Re: Tiger Eye (warning, he's a baby snake)
Hi,
Yeah, sorry it's been a bit of a wait. He's taken a little while to settle enough with me and his new suroundings. But he does seem to be coming on a bit now. He even comes out of his hide when I'm there now to have a drink : )
It can vairy on how often they shed, but Tig seems to be shedding once a month (every four weeks). It also depends on the species as well. Pandora, my Corn Snake, shed every three to four weeks when she was young. Every two to three months when she got older.
Some species of Python can grow very big, yeah. Some can grow nine feet long, some can grow up to six meters... Boas on the other hand can grow longer than a bus and weigh as much as a small car! But Little Tig will only grow to six feet, give or take a few inches. He'll be kept in a three foot vivarium (a special reptile house) once he's a big boy, but for now he's being kept in a small reptile tank. All snakes have a fear of open space and need to feel closed in to be happy. So although a three foot viv might sound small, it's what he'll be most happy with.
I have ratties too, but they live up stairs in their own room, so Tig won't be seeing them. But even as an adult he wouldn't stand much of a chance against an adult rat. Plus, they're too big for him to eat X )
I'll see if I can get some photos of him when he's fully shed so you can see how bright he is afterwards.
