YES we enjoyed it and NO it wasn't hard
I enjoy running and try to do 3-5 miles 2-3 times a week, I was really hoping to beat my best time (for 5kms) of 22mins but the heat plus 4,000 were working against me. But I'm still proud I did it and ran the entire course even the bit where you have to go back on yourself
Mum was amazing, she's never done any running but she run/walked the whole thing, shouting "Come on Non" behind me untill she couldn't see me any more bless her.
We arrived early and did the warm up with the 4,000 strong crowd, it was wonderful to see so many people dressed up (in that heat too) and we read so many sad stories we spent a lot of the time in tears but it's such a "united" thing to do I would highly reccomend it to EVERYONE, you don't have to run the majority of the people walk - laugh and enjoy.
NEXT YEAR I AM GOING TO BEAT (okay possibly equal) my best time
