Default Saying Goodbye to my Girls

My rattie girls left for their forever home this morning. It was only ever supposed to be a temporary arrangement, but they ended up being here for six whole months, and i'm feeling a bit... empty. and the dog keeps walking round the rodent room trying to find them...

This sucks.

Our goodbye snuggles were the best snuggles we've ever had

It must be so very hard to let them going after having cared for them for so long Just think of the joy that they will bring to their new parents though, and its all thanks to your hard work They are gorgeous ratties Will you be able to stay in touch and maybe even visit them?

Their new owner is a biker called Jeff, he's an acquaintance of my dad and has a lot of experience with rats so I know they're going to a good place, but i think I got a bit too attached heh. He does live less than a five minute walk from my dad though so you never know, I might get to visit some time. Ironically, they now live in the street next to the one my dog lived in before he came to me. It's a small world :P

It is hard though, they've both come such a long way since coming to me, and we got very attached to each other. and the dog was quite taken with them too I would have kept them if I felt that I could, but I feel that Jeff can give them more than I can. Obviously I have given them everything they need, I would never neglect them, but over a lifetime... they're better off with Jeff.

It is My mom keeps reminding me that I took them in in the first place because I wanted to find them their forever home, and now i've done that. I know she's right but it still hurts.

I am sure it's hard to say goodbye to your pretty girls but at least they had a lovely time with you preparing them for their new home. You gave them a warm & loving home and that is a great thing to do for those ratties.

Oh dear, it's not easy, is it?

I think you've done some fantastic work, looking after these two, and you can feel proud in securing them a new, permanent, home.

Might be tough at the moment, but it's all for the best

Thank you for the lovely comments, everyone

I'm still missing the girls (of course!) but i'm trying to distract myself by concentrating on Pip
