I thought so, but did not want to say either. Especially as someone has one here

Re: Opinions Wanted (Warning, Rather Blunt in Places)
Hi all - I have cancelled everything to do with the enquiries, thanks to your advice. And at least now I have guidelines and criteria to apply when it comes to looking for the hamsters. I probably should have PMed about whether they were NHC registered from the very beginning, or made my initial enquiries here in the first place. All learning experience, but glad there were friends to catch me before I put my foot in it.
Thank you for reassuring me about my feelings with regards to Willow too. She was such a curious little ham, she'd have been splatted across the cage bars trying to get a good look at the new arrival I'll keep ya updated, and ask if I need any more advice or are in doubt.

Re: Opinions Wanted (Warning, Rather Blunt in Places)
£40 for 2 hamsters seems exessive! But then it depends on how much you want them, I paid £130 and £140 to courier 2 rabbits 200 miles to me, plus £25 and £35 for the bunnies themselves, I never saw them beforehand exept the pics the breeders sent me, and I spoke to each breeder over the phone once, the rest was emails and texts. However, both my bunnies, are the breed they were sold as, have stayed the size they're meant to be, and are beautiful friendly buns who are nice and cuddly. In fact I am far happier with them than the uncatchable ones that come from petstores, and wouldn't hesitate (provided I could afford to) to get them in the same way again. It just depends on how much you want them to pay that much to get them. I want a harvest mouse, but I can't get one around me, so I am saving up to get one couriered to me. The mouse is £15 and the courier £65. That is expensive for one tiny mouse (though I'm planning on adding a couple of fancy mice in to make it more worthwhile), and I'd rather get one in the garden centre for a tenner again, but if that's what it takes to get me one, that's what it will be.

Re: Opinions Wanted (Warning, Rather Blunt in Places)
The only London "winter white" breeder I know is not someone I'd reccomend. If it was them I'm glad you changed your mind.
There's no way on earth I'd ever be paying £40 for two hamsters regardless of the breeder...
