Yes! So worth it! I know they are a bit on the expensive side... At first I wasn't all that interested in getting one because I didn't think I'd use it all that often, so it'd be a waste of money. But then while I was working at a pet supply store I thought how resourceful it would be to pull up information for people at the store (can't say corporate would have felt the same way LOL they see any electronics as a means of playing around at work).
After expressing my interest, my fiance bought me the iPad2 for our anniversary last year and it's incredible. I used it at work on a few occasions the way I had intended (until another co-worker got one to play with at work and so I stopped bringing mine in so that management wouldn't think I was doing the same as the other girl), I also used it during my lunch breaks. Definitely get the one with 3G. I pay $20 a month for 1g of internet which is all you really need for internet browsing, emailing, and social networking. Just don't download a lot while you're connected to 3G cause it'll drain all your internet if you only buy the 1g/month for wireless. You want to download your videos, music, and apps while you're connected to wifi and use the internet browsing and online games for 3G
I even use Google Maps too when I don't have my GPS available. I look up information on it all the time when I'm not at a computer. Some of the games are ton of fun too, and addicting so it gives you something to do while you're waiting around or just a little bored. I definitely think they are worth the money though. I have the smallest storage space iPad2 and it's great just for the things I listed above. If you're big into movies and tv shows, I recommend getting one with more storage space. I don't really put a lot of media on mine other than games anyway since I have Hulu Plus, HBO Go, and Netflix on my iPad2 (so I can watch streaming videos without having to download anything).
