I feel so bad :(

Well as some of you no my wee hammies time for rainbow bridge is nearing. For the past week ive been loaded with the cold an so havent been handling her for obvious reasons. Though i feel really guilty because wha if her time is say is reakky soon for instance and i havent been playing with her etc i feel so bad knowing that in her last days of life she had no-one to comfort her. I know this might sound quite silly but i do feel really bad. My OH has been feeding the hammy corner lol as i have no even went in the room just incase. He says shes looking really old an he normally wouldnt pay much attention to notice these things he not really a furry critter person. I still have the cold but am going to get him to take a pic of her and maybe yous can tell me from looking at a recent foto and an old foto. I will upload it on this thread either tonight or tomorow.

I don't think its a silly thing to be upset about. No one wants to not be able to comfort their furry friend as they near their time. Hopefully she'll hold out for much longer and you'll be able to cuddle her a ton before she goes. And if not, she'll know you love her and thats all she'll need.

Although you might feel bad, you're probably doing the right thing for her. She might hang on but getting a cold could make things a lot worse for her. I really hope that she does hold on for you but I'm sure she's had a great life that you can look back on fondly. Best of luck

Yes, you are definitely doing the right thing. Toffee had a respiratory infection before he died and it was hard to watch him struggling to breath. It's best to keep your distance until the cold has gone, to avoid passing it on. I know this goes against all your instancts as a hamster-lover, though. (((hugs to you and your little one)))

You are doing the right thing. Just think how much worse you would feel if you even thought you'd passed something on to her. You're thinking of her and not yourself and that's the best kind of mummy. I hope you get to cuddle her soon. xxx
