Oh very pretty indeed! Can you tell them apart easily? I just wondered whether there shells were different or if there is another way of telling one from the other?

Aww so cute but before you can wink they will be the size of your fist! Our George is nearly two and is massive now. He spends most of his time buried in his compost

Wow, they are just babies then. How long do they live? (They are rather lovely, by the way)

the average is 7-10 years i believe

Kerel has more beige colouring on him than Bron, but their personalities are very different, Kerel is far more confident

I thought about getting a couple of those before Luna the Hammie.... was a bit put off by the fact you have to 'dispose' of the eggs though, or you'll be knee high in baby snails!

Theyre lovely, and I'm still tempted.

it's the same with stick insects- the kindest way is to freeze them and crush them i haven't had to do that yet but i will have to. they really are delightful though, i'd recommend them as pets!

That sounds really mean, doesn't it?

I guess if you do it quickly, since stickies for example can take 4 months to hatch, then it is a lot more humane than doing it when they are about to hatch out.

Your snails are lovely Lau, you will be known as the insect and snail person before long!! I have to say I do not miss my GALS but I could happily keep them again hehe

If you only get one snail and make sure you get it as a tiny baby you do not have the egg problem. Our George has never laid any eggs and I don't think snails particularly need friends!
Unfortunatly the same cannot be said for stick insects as they do not need mates
Here is George as he is now with a snail we got for a friend who is only 4wks (Gonzales) I think they can live up to 7 years basia though BigD keeps threatening George with garlic butter
