That's good news that you got the refund and to keep the cage - but yes a shame it is not 100%. I think there are some tips on here somewhere for repairing cage bases (was it Vectis had some tips/photos?)

Welcome to HC Pingu. I'm beginning to think the company which ships all these damaged Alexander cages is in cahoots with the Hamster Resistance Network and in making those who aren't thinking of a second Hamster to have the ability to adopt an unplanned Hamster LOL. Now we can't have a lovely nice big cage sitting around empty can we?

You'd also think with all the money their losing in refunding but letting you keep the cage they would invest in finding a better shipping box to prevent this common damage seen. If I was looking to buy and Alexander I would prepare myself ahead of time that the first one will arrive damaged as we have had many many reports of just that with Alexander cages.

Hahah, you hit the nail on the head there! Crappy packaging and crappy delivery services. I've never ordered anything large off them before, so never had a problem til the Alexander came. I was very disappointed, but thankfully they handled it well.
