Hello to Hamster Cental

Hello everyone,
I have been reading for months ever since my daughter joined as Dusty last year. Like other older members I kept hamsters when a child and at Uni then I supervised my daughter when she had some when younger.
I fell in love with hamsters all over again when she had Syrians as she does not live that far away. I have even been allowed to ham sit! so I got on the waiting list with the same breeder - Tuftyfluffs.
I was slowly getting ready taking account of everything I have been reading and learning here. Suddenly things took off today as I now have a date tomorrow to collect my new baby. I have been rushing around to get ready.
Then I realised I could join here as I am about to become an owner again!
Look forward to being able to join in after lurking for so long

As Coco said, she is actually my mum! She is a huge animal lover and helped me care for lots of pets when I was growing up <3.

Welcome to hamster central mum! Can't wait to see pictures of your new pet tomorrow and I hopefully it won't be too long before I can ham-sit him!

Hello and welcome - you both have lovely names - Dusty and Coco. Is that Dusty Crophopper and Coco Chanel by any chance?!

Thank for the welcomes especially from such familiar posters!
Dusty was my daughter's first hamster as an adult.
Coco was our beloved tortie rescue cat who was with us for over 5 years until she was knocked down by a car in Jan 2010. Dusty and I agreed this would be our tribute to her.

Hi Coco - welcome to the forum, lovely to have you and Dusty here. It must be lovely to share your passion with each other.

You must be looking forward to collecting your little tomorrow, not long to wait now. From memory, I am sure that some of my little Elynor's distant relatives are from Tuftyfluffs. I will have to check her pedigree family history though.

Looking forward to seeing photos of your little one once he has settled in. Have fun.
