Honestly you could do a double Detolf if that's an option.Or,you could make a melamine base instead of using the normal bottom which would be cheaper and just silicone the glass panels into place.In Home Depot they'll cut melamine for you and you can get a 4 ft x 8 ft sheet for around $30-35,but that would give you enough for the base as well as sides.A DIY lid would be very simple,just wood and mesh!
A good thing about the expanded Detolf option is that it would work nicely in long but narrow spaces.It only has to be around 24.5 inches wide to get to the square meter mark,which is a lot better than having to make something considerably wider!
