What is the name of this cage?
I am trying to pursuade my friend to have one of my old Syrian hamster cages instead of the one his hammy currently resides. He has sent me a photo of it but thinks it is no smaller than Kios/Barney so I need to find the exact details.

Little Zoo Hayley Hamster Cage.
WDH = 58x32x41cm. The Barney is 100x54x40cm, roughly twice the size.
Wire platforms? Ouch. Poor hammy feet. I'm surprised her hamster doesn't have bumblefoot or a broken leg from those.

Tell me about it! The wheel is too small too..
The Barney I have is the previous model so "only" 80cm rather than 100.
I am going to have to handle this carefully as I do not want to offend them but the hammy needs a better home if I can help it.

It would be ok as a play cage if the wire shelf was taken out. Maybe you could mention to your friend that the RSPCA recommends a minimum floor size for hamster cages, and you have an ideal one going spare and then say how much happier yours were when they moved into that cage as they had so much roaming space.

Re: What is the name of this cage?
I have tried, believe me. Was just wondering about the actual cage name so could address the physical aspects properly as they are a statistics and quantified information kinda person.

Good plan. Everyone makes decisions in a slightly different way, sounds like you've got them sussed. Hope it goes well....
