Default the ferplast duna multy. new smaller gaps on bars.

hiya,

im interested to hear from anybody who's using the new ferplast duna multy. it says on it that you can use it for hamsters as the bars are close together at less than 1cm apart. (its a gabber rex and zoo zone shape for rabbits) can you put dwarfs in this cage or not? im hoping you can! x

Hi there,

I have this cage for my Syrian. The spacing between the bars really is tiny, and in my opinion I wouldnt think a dwarf would fit through. The roof is fairly high too, so unless u have really high toys then the dwarfies prob wont reach.

I think the cage is great - a good space and looks cool too.

Edited to include a couple of pics showing the bars...

hiya thanks for your reply. good to see the photo's as on the internet shops the pics are not too good. glad your finding it a good cage and your ham looks happy with it! i also think its a great size. its got plenty of space being 70cm long and 46cm wide but is not as huge as a zoo zone which would take up much of my bedroom!

so if i dont push my luck by adding tall toys it should be ok then. i could always get it and just not allow them to be able to climb to the top bars. thanks for the advice. very helpfull!

I've not had experience with owning dwarfs, but by looking at the bars I cannot imagine them squeezing through, even if they were able to reach the top.

However, I wouldnt wanna tell you the wrong thing and have your dwarfies escape on you. maybe other peeps with Dwarf experience may be able to tell from the pics?

No problem, glad to be of help

I've got a couple of these on order. I've heard that the measurements are on the widest part of the cage, and since the base slants inward a little, the base dimensions are a little smaller. That's the same as ZZ's though. 1cm should be fine for any dwarf, though baby Robo's may squeeze and maybe even small smaller adults. I'd have to see it to be sure though.

Loyaltree is right - the measurements are taken at the widest part of the cage round the middle, so the base is a little bit smaller all round. However, still plenty of room tho - and yes, the same as a ZZ (but at least you get away without meshing!)

Me again! (sorry, seems like I live on here - have too easy access to the net at work!)

The equinecaninefeline site has them in two colours - grey, and a rather nice deep blue (which is what I have)

Have you found another site that stocks them?
