Exclamation Emergency cage advice needed!

Just found out that Molly has eaten a hole out of her Alexander cage base and can come and go as she likes. Have transferred her to a spare Mary cage but now need to try and come up with a permanent solution as can't risk her chewing her way out of cages.

If anyone can help with tips or links to tanks/vivas/cages etc that could work that'd be amazing. Super stressed

My favorite cage is just a 40 gallon aquarium no chewing through a glass wall! I don't have any links though, since there's tons of different brands.

Oh no! It's extra cost as well. I don't know how much you'd prepared to spend but I think those Falco tank/cages are great. Two sizes: One is 75 x 45 and 62cm high. The bigger one is big: 100 x 50 and 75cm high. It's a glass tank with a cage top and platforms. There are a lot of photos of peoples' different set ups wth this combo cage under "see customers photos" and it has really good reviews. I wish I had bought one but I didn't think about a tank when I got our cage. There's a similar one by Ferplast but I read the Ferplast one wasn't Hamsterproof - too many gaps. This Falco one seems well made and well fitting and no problems reported that I have seen.

Oh my goodness where did she chew through? I agree with getting a tank and remove all glass cutting tools from her cage! Those tanks look great!

That's some chewing even for a ham! I agree a glass tank is probably going to be your only option long term, either the one serendipity mentioned or the Kerry also at zooplus.

I agree that a tank is probably the best solution, as long as Molly isn't a bar chewer a Detolf would make a lovely cage. I personally have two of them The cage measures 163 x 43cm and isn't too expensive. I would suggest making a lid so that Molly wouldn't escape (it sounds like she is a pro at that ).

Oh yes, didn't think of the detolf - that would be great.

Tanks everyone for taking the time to answer. Determined she is. I have often refered to her as the devil in a teeny tiny fluffy body.

I think I'm going to go for the Kerry Terarium from zooplus. I would love a detolf but just don't have the space for one, plus she does chew bars so the one with the barred bit at the top wouldn't help with that.

I do feel bad that she'll be going from the 100cm alexander to a 75cm tank but that's what you get when you eat your way out of a luxury cage i guess

Now to see if there are any photos of setups of other peoples
