Dwarf Cage
Hi,
I've had my little WWR for four weeks now, she has grown in size and her cage is way to small. She has a Savic Spelos and I thought about getting a cage that could attach to it, hopefully she won't still live in her tubes then.
I am open minded about cages, though my flat gets quite cold in winter and super hot in summer which isn't helpful. I've looked into the following, savic peggy metro deluxe
duna fun maxi
grabber criceto
furry lifes happy world
rydon mill house, but aren't sure the the bar width and I don't have a clue if she'll chew the bars.
Secondly what are the thoughts on fluffy bedding, the pet shop assures me its fine, though I have lots of paper bedding at the moment. A bit worried about the cold nights though.
Advice welcome.

Re: Dwarf Cage
Hi
Small animals such as dwarf hamsters can escape through bars which are wider than 1cm, so keep that in mind when looking for a big cage
The zoozone's are good cages, they are big, and offer easy access, heres the link
http://www.seapets.co.uk/search-resu...archbutton.y=0
You can discard to hay guard and it would make a great home for you WW
But theres one problem, if you have suspension bridges or a hammock clipped on the lid, you may need to mesh the lid
Gabber's are extremely rare, and when you have the chance of getting one, get it! they are fantastic cages, not 1 thing bad about it, the best cage make in whole history of hamsters
Fluffy bedding is dangerous! it can get stuck between a hamsters teeth, and your hamster can get tangled in it resulting in injury. Stick to soft paper bedding, safe and cosy
I haven't got my WW's yet, so out of curiosity, where did you get yours from? and does she have a name?

My WW is called Chloe and I bought her from a small pet store in Wimbledon, where I know someone who works. They use a local breeder I believe, so was reassured.
Shes still shy, but doesn't bit and has recently become more adventurous and less lazy. I've been experiementing with foods and so far she loves, tofu and brocolli and poridge.

Re: Dwarf Cage
Your ham is a real cutie. A Sapphire WW I think. We have WW in a Millhouse ryden, Gabberlux & rex and a FOP bernie deluxe. All these and a savic rody are plenty big enough for a single dwarf and you can fit plenty toys in too. The bar space is fine in these.

Re: Dwarf Cage
Thanks for all the advice, I've had a look. I'm either going to get a savic rody or get another spelos and attach it via tubes to the first. I thought one could be a bed and sleep area, the other could have toys in. Do you think this would still be to small? and do I need a second level for climbing.
For summer my friend is giving me her spare cage, a peggy metro. Wasn't sure on the bars though.

Re: Dwarf Cage
In a related question-has anyone ever kept robo's in a Imac Fantasy? I ordered it for a rescue syrian hamster i am picking up on sat and its looking like it wont be here in time-i have recently re-introduced 2 robos which are currently living in an empty bin cage (just until weekend as advised during re-intro process) and wondered if maybe i should keep them in the imac when it arrives and get rescue hammy a new cage on saturday?
The bars are 1cm apart-will I have escapees?
Thanks!
Ps missberry your hammy is gorgeous! Such a cutie!

Re: Dwarf Cage
Why thank you. She is really lovely, even if I do say so myself.
