Sorry only just replying....
My WW is a hamster that someone didn't want anymore so we took him. *But* I think he originally came from PAH. They always seem to have WW / Russian Dwarfs (which I think are hybrids a lot of the time) in the adoption centre at ours.
I don't know if WW's are 'normally' bigger than Campbells or if my trio are just little as they are my first experience with Campbells - they could even be hybrids. They really are small
This is one of my Campbell's next to a loo' roll inner... >
If you have a Rspca centre near you I'd try them - the ones I have just adopted were born in the centre and are almost one year old as no-one wanted them.

Re: Savic Cambride help
As I speak, the RSPCA advert is on, what a coinsidence
And Yeah, I found the closest branch, but im not affending the hamsters they have rescued, but most of them are already 1 years old, which means that they are getting a bit old. I get really heartbroken when a hamster dies, and dont want to adopt a hamster which has about only half its life left. Do they have younger hamsters there? heres a pic of my cage setup for my future hamsters, the sawdust isnt in yet tho

Re: Savic Cambride help
Well I know what you mean - it is really upsetting when they die. We lost a Syrian recently and were gutted when she went. But I rehomed my trio as I hated the thought of them dying in rescue never having had a home of their own .....
Regarding your cage - you could really do with some shelves as otherwise it's a *long* drop for any hamster top to bottom but especially so for a Dwarfie or two! :P
How about getting some Sleep n' ledges or do what Jayne has done and get some natural wooden shelving as she did with Her Savic Cambridge - you can buy pine shelves really cheap from lots of places and they're easy to fix in place using a screw and a washer. (Just make sure the screw head is bigger than the washer hole otherwise it doesn't work..... as I found out myself.... )
I like the ladder toys - my hamsters love those. x

Re: Savic Cambride help
Theres a bit of a proble with the shelves
I dont have enough room for a shelf, and if I put one there, the toys wont dangle, and the toys dangly toys are already nearly touching the bottom.
But I know what you mean, the ladder on the bridge shouldnt really have short chains and be so close to the roof of the cage, but long ones that make a hamster fall not so dangerous.
Do you have any other solutions

Re: Savic Cambride help
Would the sleep n' ledges not work?!
You can position them where you want to in the cage as they attach with screws, washers and wingnuts. I would rather take a toy or so out than leave all the ladder toys in without any shelves at all...
Bear in mind that the original shelves that come with Cambridge when used add a good third of the cage base surface-wise. I have one of my shelves fairly high up - about 9 bars down - and the other onw is just below where the door is. In this way the bottom shelf doubles up as a 'private' dark space where they like to sleep.
Plus you'll need at least one shelf for food / water really as otherwise it'll get very mucky, lol.
