Exclamation Food Storage in Bedding and Pee Spots

Wasn't sure which forum to put this in, as it involves bedding and healthcare. Mods can move this if they think it goes in the other forum.

But anyways, last night I noticed Shade has a corner in which he prefers to urinate (as most of the bedding around it is yellow). For whatever reason, one of his hobbies seems to be digging bedding out from random areas.

To the point, I noticed he was storing his food in the same corner in which he urinates. My question is, might this be a health hazard? Is their urine "sterile" enough to be okay?

Or might that be a potentially harmful thing? I would assume it is okay, because if he didn't like it (at least the taste), he wouldn't put it there.

Just wanted to check and get some of your thoughts, maybe your hamster's have done this before to.

Don't worry this is perfectly normal and won't do your ham any harm. just be sure to spot clean the corner every few days to keep it fresh
