Re: Let's See Your Cages
it sure is, it's the best cage I could find, and they are a great price for the size. Sid's really happy in it, especially after the cage he lived in for the first week (it was way to small and I had to buy him a new one, it wouldn't have been fair on him to live in the other for the rest of life)

Re: Let's See Your Cages
som pictures of the room for all my rodents - including the hamsters
The hamster cages:
the bins are only for single dwarfs, my female syrian lives the duna, my male syrian in the gabber lux and the two "benie"-cages are for dwarf-pairs.
the guinea pigs lives in af "drawer" right under the hamsters
The rabbit cage:
He has free access to the bed :P
My rat cages in both side of the table, on the table lives my gerbils
The girlie-rat cage
the boy-rat cage
The bed I use to let e.x. the female rats ran on.. then it's the boys turn, and I also use it for the rabbit, guinea pigs and hamster

Re: Let's See Your Cages
Soooo today Chewbacca got a little treat. I had been looking online this morning for a new housey for him, as he was living in a Rotostak pink pad, which might have been bearable for him, if he wasn't ever going to grow, and if he used half the space available, but he wasn't keen at all (story behind the cage - last hamster we got was a quick rescue from flatmates relative, panicked, got it locally on gumtree).
Here is how he was -
Which wasn't ideal. Note - he still doesn't get the whole tissue thing, he seems to be a blanket boy!
Well I was looking and hunting trying to find a way of getting something spacious for under £40, and was struggling online, everything looked so pokey.
A friend called this afternoon to go to P@H to see some rescue piggles (gorgeous!!) and I was POW! FATE!
So I trundled along. One that didn't look big enough to me on the site was actually quite impressive in person, so I got Chewy a mini duna. I know it's not massive, but he is over the moon, I think. It's about 4 times more space for him to use than what he was. He also got a bit spoilt with new things to mess with! He loves the massive wheel - LOVES. He's been in it on and off for ooo... 6 hours?!
So here he is in his new home -
He seems jolly pleased with himself And I feel much better him being in there. Though doesn't he look like a skinny skeletor in the last picture?! I'll be taking the loo roll out shortly. He's not interested at all!

Re: Let's See Your Cages
Gorgeous Syrian!! Mine had a Mini Duna to start with but now has the Duna Fun Large (almost as big as a Criceti 15)!
I think you'll find he will outgrow the Mini Duna pretty quickly!!! My girl is 5 months old and sometimes even seems too big for the Large version!! When she stands on her hindlegs and stretches up, she's really long and tall.
I am thinking of upgrading, especially because she would LOVE to have more bars to climb! But I have a cat, so I might start off by letting her used a bar cage just as a playpen

Re: Let's See Your Cages
Haha he is a cutie isn't he. He LOVES the wheel, I can't tell you how much. And his little house - before he had to try and buid a nest, which my old hammy was fab at, but he kinda sucked . I'd definately recommend the set up - I wish I had time and money for the guinea pig version, but by the time I had got all the bits and finished it, I'd have died of guilt. Really happy with the Savic wheel. Very quiet and smooth, and I imagine much more comfortable than the rubbishy closed in Rotostak one.
