Thanks so much guys!!!! I owe it all to gutterglitter:

I am typing this from my cellphone so excuse any typos if they arise.
I traced rectangles onto the bin with marker 1st like she did then used a hot knife (heated over candle flame) and then measured and cut hardware cloth that was a little bigger than the cut outs. I marked holes to be cut for zip ties again with marker then cut with the heated tip of knife. Then I secured mesh with the neon ties and that is Duck tape which comes in various patterns! I had a difficult time picking but glad for the zebra!
I really think her DIY should be a forum sticky! It's what made me love bins! Easy to clean and so light weight. Mine is a 105 or 106 qt Sterilite from Walmart for $11.97. It's for my Robo ham Snow and he has a great deal of room.
People use different ways to do this like soldering irons and saws etc. to make it a little easier. It takes time and patience and determination. I did the lid first last weekend then the front last night and both took a couple hours at least. I did crack the bin as I cut to hard and would use hot glue gun to putty up crack and a tiny strip of the Duck tape over it to keep it from spreading as I cut on. So you have to be careful and slow.
Once you put tape over sides of the mesh imperfections like the cracks aren't noticeable.
I'll take close ups soon!!!
I absolutely love this bin! It makes a great option for taking a ham traveling too. We move around a lot so I am considering making smaller versions when we do just as travel cages!
