Re: Time I Tell You :P
this is the one you need, with a lid, and the lid clips.... it's not quite big enough, but its a massive improvement for bubbles and if you put a huge layer of substrate in, it would definitely be okay

Re: Time I Tell You :P
Yeah, the first could just about work. The only issue is how much thinner it gets towards the base.
The second that Charli just linked would be the absolute best if possible though

Re: Time I Tell You :P
What about looking on freecycle in your area, then it wouldnt cost you or your parents anything, you would just have to collect it?

I was about to ask this
You could also offer to sell the peggy metro once you get a bigger cage too, and promise you'll only have the one from then on.

Re: Time I Tell You :P
If your family cannot afford the cage or will not allow it to be purchased then there is not much you can do about that except plead your case Jack. It is best to wait till you actually have things perhaps before mentioning them then causing confusion!
Be very, very careful about joining up the cages because hamsters are really good at pushing tubes apart and getting through tiny gaps. I'm sure they would not be happy if they found Bubbles has escaped and chewed things! You will need your parents assistance in making sure the connections are secure.
Personally I would not remove the sand bath. If you do he will simply pee in another place and that will involve whole cage cleans. Just clean the potty every couple of days and renew the sand. Many people would envy you a potty trained hamster! Remember cleaning and reassembling this joined together set up is going to be time consuming and tricky.
