Default Brown spot?

Picked up my hammy the other day and she has a brown spot on her back. It looks like a mole would on a human. I was wondering if its anything to worry about. I poked it and she completly ignored me so I guess its not sore or anything. I don't want my little one to be ill.

Does anyone know what it might be?

Thanks in advance!

Is it on her hips? It sounds like her scent glands. They can be quite dark coloured especially in dark hamsters and black eyed hamsters and they get darker as they age. There should be one on each side on the hips abouve her back legs.

I shall check when she wakes up. The one I saw was near her hip. I only noticed it because her hair is light, if she had dark hair I guess it wouldn't stand out so much. I will find out if she has a matching one on the other side. Thank you. When I got her she was a red eyed cream but after 6months or so she went dark eyed with dark ears. Hang on she's just got up! Yes there is one on each hip!

They don't really change colour so much as the pigment increases as they mature and it looks as if the eyes have gone black but if you look very carefully in good light they are actually still a very dark red. The ears of a red eyed animal go sort of brownish where as a black eye will go dark grey/black. Pigment also increases on the scent glands and on the genitals particularly in males.
