Syrian Hamster weight?

I just weighed my male hamster for the first time since getting him, he weighed exactly 130g, im hearing different healthy weights all over the Internet, im thinking he's young as his testicles have only just dropped (a few days back). Is this a healthy weight or too heavy for a youngster! Thank you guys!

Syrians can weigh anything from 100g to 300g+. Hamsters from breeders are usually larger (200g+). At around 6 weeks, my little Fluffy weighed a tiny 110g - he's now around 5 months, and weighs 155g. My last hamster, when I weighed him when he was 2 years old, weighed 209g. You can check the weigh-in thread to see the variations that hams can have.

Hamsters, when on a healthy diet that isn't full of junk, are good at keeping their weight at a healthy level for them, as long as they're healthy themselves (unhealthy hams can have dramatic weight loss or gain). If your hammy isn't skin and bones (or a giant blob) and is active and inquisitive, then he's fine. =)

Different Syrians weigh different amounts. The more regular weights would be between 100-200g, but a healthy Syrian can easily weigh up to 300+g. Also, he may still be growing, so don't be surprised if his weight gradually increases.

Charlie is about 9 to 10 months old (I think) and he weighs about 220 grammes. But he's a big syrian. Yours sounds like he is still growing. As for testes dropping - I must have missed something there!
