Default Re: My hamster has fleas?

If the other pets have bought fleas in the house, do they sit on the sofa / chairs. If so, regularly check under the cushions to see if you find any tiny black and white/grey things that look like small thin tiny maggots or caterpillars. These are the larvae of the fleas. We had cats a few years ago and they used to sit on my wife's armchair. I was looking for something and looked under the cushion and saw these maggot / caterpillar type things. I crushed them and researched them online and found they are the flea larvae.

To catch fleas in the house, as they are so small to see, at night, place a tray (the sort you have dinner on your lap with) on the floor with water in it and place a lamp above it. Something like a bendy desk lamp would do. Anything that will be approx in the centre of the tray. Switch the lamp on when you go bed. In the motning, look in the tray, and if there are fleas in it (they drown) you have them. They are attracted to the light and jump towards it and fall in the water. Cheapest form of flea trap. Do this until there are no more fleas.
I hope this helps you.
