Default Re: Hamster randomly started sneezing and unknown bald patch.

I can honestly say that I have never heard of any remedies like that for hamsters, but then again I've never looked as I made sure I had access to a vet before I got my first hamster. I'm sorry to keep repeating about the vets but I do believe they're the only people who can definetly help. Please don't try rat remedies though, many things that are ok for rats are poisonous to hamsters.
I'm not sure many on this site will know of the sort of thing you're looking for - almost everyone here has access to a vet and can rely on those when their ham has health issues.

If you show a photo of the hamsters fur loss then we may be able to make more educated guesses but at the moment its not sounding like anything I'd recognise enough to guess. I've had some experience of both fur loss and resp issues but so far theres nothing I personally can give solid advice on

I think ill just find it on my own. I don't think this forum will be a lot of help to me by the looks of the answer I have gotten and the amount in how long this has been up for.
I would never try to medicate my hamsters with stuff I use for my rats before knowing its safe I know they are completely different pets I was using it as an example.

I say I don't think this forum will be helpful is because every answer I have gotten involves a vet in the answer which I have said multiple times I don't have access to.

I can't post a picture because I can't find away to add it on my iPod. She has a patch of missing fur on her side near the back leg and no fur on one of her back legs there is like peach fuzz where the fur is missing, the area is where a glande is on a hamster. That's what makes me think it is a glande problem, the area is a purplish color as well. It doesn't seem to bug her or put her in pain if I touch it at all and there really has been no difference in her at all.

If you said more about where you are then we could always try and help you find the vet that many here think would help...

Alternatively you could always post asking for tips on uploading pics from an iPod - I cant help but someone probably can

There's one vet two hours away that's specialized in exotics but I don't have the money an I don't have away there.
