Thumbs down woody not himself

Woody hasn't been himself lately . He's my one year old male syrian .

His symtoms are :

Sleeping much more he's even sleeping during the night
Not eating as much
Itching quite a lot
Really inactive
Sneezing

Is there anything I can do before I go to see a vet which I will do
Really worried about him he's usually running in his wheel right now but he's sleeping

It sounds like an allergy with the itching and the sneezing, so has anything changed recently?

If the itching could just be his normal amount but you being more sensitive because of the other symptoms it might be a cold/respiratory problem?

The only change has been I bought him potty litter for the first time but I took that out because I thought it might be that . But its the fact that he's never up anymore that worries me he still drinks but that's like the only time he gets up

It could be that he is feeling unwell Hammielover. Have you checked him all over for lumps and bumps, does he have any weight change, weeing and pooping normally, teeth OK? As hamsters get older they sleep loads more so this could explain it. Check his coat for any redness, flaking, tiny scabs etc.
Let us know what you find on the checks and we'll try and think why he may be so lethargic.

I have actually just noticed he lost a little bit fur he's not got any lumps or bumps and is weeing and pooping normally and he doesent look like he's lost weight .

Tbh I don't think its old age because it just seems so sudden all of this has happened and he's only 1 .

a year is getting on for middle aged for a hamster and he may start to suffer from thinning fur and other age related symptoms. It could be mites but these are not really that common so maybe an allergy. Have you changed his bedding or anything?
If you are very concerned it may be best to have a vet check him over.
