Re: New Hamster
Urgh, now I know where you got her from, I'd be more inclined to take her to the vets. P@H aren't always the best when it comes to hamster knowledge.

Re: New Hamster
She should not smell Keflan. To be honest she looks a little unwell in the pics. Are her ears flat all the time? She should be nice and bright and active with no sticky eyes or wet bottom at this age once she is awake.
If her bottom is in the least bit wet or smelly you must get her checked out by a vet because if caught early wet tail or even stress related diarrhoea can be treated. A young animal such as this cannot cope with this and needs careful nursing and treatment to minimise bowel damage from this.
Can you get her in a glass bowl or jar so you can look underneath her.

Re: New Hamster
Unless she is peeing on it it doesn't look right. I would not expect her to pee an awful lot in two days anyway. Wet tail has a really bad and pungent smell. Does she smell bad if you sniff her?

Re: New Hamster
Monitor her closely and if she still seems unwell then vets tommorrow morning. Try and keep her really quiet for now and let her settle. Stick with the dry mix too and make sure she knows where the bottle is. Offer it to her if you have not seen her drinking.

Re: New Hamster
She was drinking a little earlier, I asked my girlfriend and her dad to smell her and see if they can smell anything different they said they cant smell anything, just a normal hamster smell.
Plus dry food is all I have fed her for the past 2 days.
EDIT: I put her back in, she ran around a little then started digging in 3 different corners now shes just sitting still in 1 corner. Not moving. I tried t offer her water but she just walked away from it.

Re: New Hamster
Well if they don't smell it is isn't wet tail. It smells the whole room. I wonder if she is in season? Some people are very sensitive to this smell. We think it smells like twiglets. Keep a close eye on her and check she is passing normal poos and give her lots of peace. Like babies they sleep quite a lot
