Re: Honey Looks Wierd (images)
When this condition has struck any of our hamsters couchy we have always made the decision to let them go before they start to hurt because there is no cure unless your vet is willing to try a spay. This is in itself very risky especially if she is losing her brightness and has stopped eating as this means the toxins from the infection may be spreading into her system. With a youngster who is still bright we might give them the chance with an op but your vet will be able to advise how she might fare.
If they offer antibiotics, at this stage these can only prepare her for the operation as they will not cure it. It always comes back.
We have lost several beautiful little girls to this through the years and it is heartbreaking but there is simply nothing you can do to stop it. There is a chance it is an ovarian cyst or a tumour in the reproductive system however the treatment would be the same in that she would need a spay to remove this too.
I am thinking of you and I know you will keep her comfy and surrounded by love. xx

Oh dear. Not good news really. I hope the vet is helpful for you. Thinking of you and your little lady.
