Re: Goose has a lump on his tummy :(
Goose is taking his antibiotics really well He seems alot happier and was in his wheel this morning which we dont usually see. I checked his belly and there is still a little hard lump there. I tried to drain it like the vets said but it would'nt move. If felt very soild so i think the vet may be right about the Tumor I am still going to see how he goes over the next 4 days of taking his medication and see if the lump gets any bigger. At the moment he seems happy so thats the main thing. My poor little baby Goose

Re: Goose has a lump on his tummy :(
Well i am a bit worried about little Goose He still has his lump and i just checked it and some more puss and blood is coming out. I helped it along a bit and wiped him up but there is a solid lump. He seems to be breathing very heavy as well and his poos are a bit soft I am trying him with his medication but he wont take it. I am really upset as i am worried about what to do. I am speaking to the vet tomorrow about Simba as she is still unwell so will ask her advice but i think i know what she is going to say

Re: Goose has a lump on his tummy :(
Oh dear - Mandy I think it is worth risking an op to remove both the abcess and lump. We had great success with tummy lump removal from a dwarf. If it goes very deep or has penetrated some important organ then I think you will need to decide about his life quality and may feel it best to set him free from his pain.
Abcesses are hard for the antibiotic to get to as they are in a sort of capsule. It may be able to be drained and flushed under anaesthetic. I am thinking of you both x

Re: Goose has a lump on his tummy :(
Just catching up with this - poor little Goose. Hope your conversation with the vet resulted in something positive today.

Re: Goose has a lump on his tummy :(
Goose passed away earlier today. Mandy has started a thread in the memorial section.
