Re: An the family grows.....
She is totally gorgeous, my heart's melting!
What a wonderful addition to your family!
Well done for giving her a lovely home & for doing your very best to educate the original owners, hopefully they will have taken at least some of that on board & maybe even come here. You've really done such a great job here

Re: An the family grows.....
Thank you Cypher.
I hate to think what will happen to that poor mum, doubtless already pregnant again and they are keeping another two females, so I imagine that they will also be used for breeding. Then I start to think of the problems that the bred hamsters are likely to suffer and I get dejected. That's when my own fluff family and people here cheer me up. I get cuddles and I am reminded that we can only do what we can manage, we can't save every fluff, unfortunately.
All animals deserve proper protection from the law, whether it is to give them plenty of room in their cages or protecting against bad breeding, etc which includes pet shops making errors too. Our pets rely on us, they deserve our best.
Big sigh!

Marram is a gorgeous girl, I am lucky. She has just had some play time on the sofa with me. I'll post some more photos for you to see when I have them.

That it does Even though you know you did your best, and that nothing else can be done, it still stays a bit with you
Aaaaaand I am back on this thread, which resulted in me squeaking in awe again in front of that cute apple photo, seriously, seriously adorable! I am looking forward to more pictures in the future

@Mistouflette - I am glad you like that photo, I couldn't believe that she sat there for as long as she did, allowing me to get the picture. She's a special little fluff.
Lizzy, thank you. Marram makes four, again. Home feels as it did before losing Bindle and Aspen but, I needed the time before adding to the family again but it was hard going from 4 to 2 fluffs on the same day.
The family will have another addition when a WW comes along.

I'm the only human in the house Lizzy and previously I had drawn the line at having 4 fluffs but I have a spare cage now and I really would like a pure bred WW still but couldn't resist little Marram. So, I've also just ordered some furniture which will allow me to rearrange the lounge slightly. I also plan to make at least two new cages as soon as the weather improves. This will allow me better access to all the fluffs. Dare I say 5 will be my limit...of course not!

Re: An the family grows.....
Oh Artisans!, How beautiful Marram is. You never know, maybe the folks you told about HC might take a peek and decide to join. I am so glad you brought her home. She sounds to be such a good little hammy. I have room for 2 dwarfies right now, but until I know what's going to be medically, I have to wait. For now it's only Nutmeg, Yoda and the kitties. I'll just have to oooh and ahhh over Marram and other dwarfies.

Hi DrKMcK - lovely to see you here, even if it's just a brief visit, been thinking about you daily.
Thank you for your comments about Marram, I can't disagree with you, she is gorgeous and she is already showing her character. Always climbing the bars - sideways if necessary to take the shortest route to get to me, and the quickest way to her food, cheeky madam.
She's certainly keeping me entertained throughout the day and the evenings/night.
I keep my fingers crossed for the her original owners to look up HC.
I look forward to you being back on HC more frequently and hope that all goes well for you so you can soon bring home two new fluffs. In the meantime, look after yourself, Nugmeg, Yoda and the kitties. Hugs
