Re: Spike, The Radiator Siege & Other Adventures
That vid is just amazingly cute, the sweetest side of Spike I ever saw
He obviously hasn't given up on his manic activities though, I hope your heart has slowed down now
Shannon, hamster parachutes lol! what a great idea

Re: Spike, The Radiator Siege & Other Adventures
Oh my how cute is that vid! I love the thought of the hamster parachutes aswell, Nibble could use one as he's so clumsy at climbing!
I created a stash- pee cycle last week as I did a relatively thorough clean last weekend, I took hardly any substrate out and left his nest alone but cleared out his old nest which he'd filled in. I wasn't sure if he was still stashing food in the corner by his old nest so I put a bit of food there, when he found it he looked quite surprised and then promptly wee'd on it!

Re: Spike, The Radiator Siege & Other Adventures
I often wonder what goes through their heads when they get manic like that . Maybe I do need to invest in a hammy parachute for him . I'm going to blame the HamNet on this one, it's a bad influence on impressionable hamster minds!
Spike really is a manic little cutie though . He gets annoyed if I don't have Hubby's massive zip up hoodie on as he loves running around inside and through the sleeves. It's what we did with him when we first got him before we started to let him free range, we'd put him inside our hoodies, zip it closed and let him ramble around inside. He's always loved it

Ha! That gave me a good laugh : "Oooh look food - now I'm gonna pee on it!"

Re: Spike, The Radiator Siege & Other Adventures
Spike's neighbours have been feeling a little left out. Apparently Spike's been bragging about how much time I spend talking about him on the internet. So in the interest of fairness here's a quick video of my OTHER three boys: Scooter, Scrunchie and Chu: We're so pretty

Re: Spike, The Radiator Siege & Other Adventures
Thanks CC, it's my goal in life to surround myself with pretty boys!! Fish are far more work that I thought they would be when I started a few years ago, pricey too . I do love my fishies though. I have to admit to calling Scooter and Scrunchie dumb and dumber , they are very pretty but a bit thick sometimes. The smallest one Chu is the smart one
So my little fluff monster for some reason decided that he was no longer happy blocking off the ground entrance to his Cabin Leif house even though he's blocked it off since he got the house when he was a baby. I don't know what hamstery reason caused him to suddenly decide to do this but I'm over the moon about it because the entrance is just by his big litter tray so His Royal Fluffiness is actually using the big tray during the day and no longer peeing in his house and therefore no longer peeing on his stash! VICTORY!!

Re: Spike, The Radiator Siege & Other Adventures
Ruby, whatever you were feeding him to make his pee extra extra stinky clearly worked. He no longer liked it as a dressing over his dinner! Well done that Mom! Spikey-don't worry lad you will be spoiled some more now!
