Ziggy spent the last week being cynical and bored about coming out. Waiting for the moment to head back to the comforts of cage. This week he made up for it, since he has been running around exploring like a pup and makes it obvious when he wants outside time.

I think he's going through a mid life crisis.....

Lol! Maybe that's it! I suppose a year to 18 months would be mid-life crisis time. Charlie is having no treats today and had none last night, but I did give him cheese as well as veg tonight - and a dried grasshopper (ugh!). From now on I will try to give him longer out of the cage each time, he got quite into it last night once he'd been out for a while and had a little doze on the sofa. They do say humans become like their pets so maybe it works the other way round as well - my other half tends to just eat and then doze all night. But then he works hard all day, whereas Charlie just runs round in his wheel!

You forgot 'thinking deep hamster thoughts'. Which is hard work. Not all hamsters are the manual laborer type!

Good point. He could be sitting in that house like a Carmelite monk, contemplating the worlds problems and praying for everyone - in between snacks. And for all we know, all the running round in wheels every night could be creating balance in the world, like the whales - oh boy I must keep off those cheesy biscuits at bed-time.
