The calico was in the male tank, that's why I said boy, but of course he could have actually been a girl...

It helps for me that they are all very different personalities. Some like lots of my time, some like only a little, some like to just run in the playpen others are more interested in being in their cage. I have a diverse range of different personalities within my bedroom. They're all wonderful!
And nope, they're all in the one room and are in fact stacked in bin cages, on top of each other and to the side of each other.. They don't really seem to notice each other anymore.
Theres a shift in behaviour sometimes when a new addition reaches maturity, but otherwise, nope. and its shortlived.

Wow. 6 syrians and 1 robo. Have you got a dedicated room in your house for all those hams? I often wonder how people manage to have so many without a 'hamster room'. Where on earth do all the cages go lol. Not to mention the sheer amount of bedding and other hamster paraphernalia!

I had 16 Long Haired Syrians as a kid once, & if it was not for my husband, I would probably have twice as many as adult. Alas, I have one VERY spoiled boy. That being said, the threat of divorce almost didn't stop me from bringing this guy home. I swear it is Mylo's brother! (Yes I take pictures of hamsters I do not own, but fall in love with at pet stores.)

I knew I would be in good company on this site! At least you have your son with you. I am generally by myself loitering around the fluff balls, because if I bring my husband I feel "rushed", LOL. I brought a friend with me the other day and she couldn't stop laughing at me that I felt the need to educate the store girl that she had two adult Syrian males together in one cage & they needed to be separated & that they had too small of a wheel. (Seriously, they had dwarf hamster wheel which isn't even big enough for a dwarf!) I almost came home with those two as well. One was a long haired dove and the other was banded cream. Does anyone else have anxiety when you see sweet furbabies being mistreated?
