... you have like a tort line going for me now. :P You should move closer to Canada, and we can fill your hamster room up with all the tanks and hamsters, lol.

Oh, how long did Penny take to calm down after you brought in the boys?

Haha well I have a bigger unused room actually but the cats have it claimed.

I'm not really sure if she calmed down or if it is changes I made. She would move the coroplast playpen wall to expose the carpet, so I glue it with non-toxic glue. She still tries occasionally but it's a waste of time. lol She doesn't rub her scent all over as often but I'm not cleaning her scent off so she may not feel the need to mark the stuff. It took about 2 months after I got her to not freak out and jump out of my hands over the playpen or tank but I don't think that's related to the boys. Just not sure if her behavior is really changed much with them. Sometimes they all get spazzy and tough to hold on the same day even when she's not in heat.

Maybe you should suck up to your Mom more and fill her house with hamsters. lol

Cats... lol. Andrew and I are both allergic to some cats but not the same ones. So I like them, but I'd never have them.

Hmmm. I'm debating what I want to do with the playpen, etc. I don't care if the Syrians share, but I don't like the idea of the boys getting their scent on them, just in case Mocha is like "INTRUDORRRRRR". Right now it's just all female Syrians, but I'm expecting it will change when Biscotti gets here. He'll think he's in hamster heaven. "TWO BEAUTIFUL LADIES... LEMME AT THEM!"

Ah... ahaha... ahahahahaha... considering how my mum and I have been getting on recently... 8'D

Last night, after the whole hamster charade, I was actually supposed to go to a BBQ. I was to get there at 5pm, and was bringing dessert. Of course I didn't get the hamsters until 5pm, then had to drive them to my house on the rush hour packed freeway, set them up... I didn't leave until 6:10pm, had to load gas in, get back the other way in heavier rush hour traffic. I got there at 6:55, just in time to bring dessert, grab a cold burger, scarf it down, and go to choir practice. It was a 20s/30s get-to-gether at my church at the Vicar's home (she lives right beside the church and is 31) so I hopped over to choir practice with my conductor who is 27 now (and was also at the BBQ) and sang for an hour.

I had asked mum earlier that day if I could take the car overnight to my house provided I bring it back early the next morning, but she said no. After choir I went back to the Vicarage and spent some time with people there, then left at about 9:45pm.

My mum accused me of driving home and then lying to her... and I was like "... well I did drive home but not when you think I did =/" in my mind. I told her I was at the vicarage, and she can ask the vicar and she'll say the same thing. Either way I paid for the gas, and so I don't see the harm.

Well keep in mind the same genders can have the same reaction about one another! A female could smell another female and start scent rubbing, Mao not sure if separating the male female scents would help. I think being their sniffers are so strong, they could probably smell one another in the room before even going in the playpen? Penny is the only one that scent runs, but she doesn't just use her scent glands.. It's gross. lol

I was at church yesterday too, but not for choir. So you used her car and it was ok with her but not at the time you did it? Does she know about the hamsters?

Thank you! I certainly hope so! Her sister will go to a great home too, and it'll be exciting to see her get bigger.

Yeah, Java is very confused about the new ladies, lol. I'm only worried with the pair, tbh.

She didn't expect me to be out so late, and just assumed I went home to see my SO. She doesn't know about these two ladies, but she knows about the boys and Java, and is aware we're getting another hamster. So long as she doesn't have to care for them she's happy. :P

It will be fine. They will adjust to the smells. I will say that when one has free roam and another is in a playpen, they will try to get together. Due to Penny's odd scenting habit, I don't give her free roam since I'd have no clue where she did it on the carpet, but a boy will run around the playpen and she'll try to dig out. lol She can't, but points for trying. Lid you use balls, that should be fun for them to get to know one another. Luckily they don't scream and hiss like cats. lol

We have two balls, so we could have two roaming at the same time while the third is in the play pen... I actually think I won't let the dwarfies in the playpen, Mocha can stay with his me-time box and we'll just play with them. The Syrians will stay tame even if we don't get a chance to hold them for a while, and I won't be worrying about their scents.
