Re: Schofield
Thanks for your replies! Well im sorry to bore you all but as im new to this - things that are probably the simplest things to you are exciting for me. So please forgive my childish excitement!
He does seem a nice wee thing. Doesnt try and jump off my hand or anything but is a bit nervous. He seems to be very gentle at taking things. I offered him a small piece of carrot and he nibbled it really gently from my fingers. He's starting to explore the tank a bit more now too which is cute to watch. Im looking forward to getting him his own cage as the tank is a bit threatening for him i think with me coming in over the top of him so i take it really slowly and let him sniff me. Im just taking hiim out for ten minutes or so on the chair to get used to things then putting him back. Im going to do it a few times each night. I did this with one of my nervous gerbils and the little and often handling seemed to work so hope it does for Schofield too.

To be totally honest, we're all a bunch of big kids too, especially when hamsters are thrown into the equation! I have 18 hamsters and I still get over excited and giddy when a new one arives

Re: Schofield
OMG he is just adorable. What a little baby cute face he has. I think he is an umbrous golden, maybe a golden. How long is his fur at the back? He almost looks long haired but maybe its just a very gorgeous plush coat. Looking forward to more piccies

Re: Schofield
Hi his hair is very short at the back. I feel a bit sorry for him. Im maybe imagining it but he just looks a bit lost! Is this normal? I only got him Saturday evening so is it probably the case that he's just settling in! I gave him a millet spray when i did the gerbils and he was munching away so seems to like it. Will give him some egg maybe tomorrow if you think its a good idea so soon?
