They don't look remotely stupid IMO, that was a tad harsh Tracey :/

What do you use for the boning in the pouches?

I've used cotton on a hammock but only because I was 99% certain it wouldn't chewed. I wouldn't give your ham the offcuts - it has the same risks as fluffy bedding (see here for more info Poorly Robo *THE DANGERS OF FLUFFY BEDDING*) which is why any fabric stuff should be removed when chewed. Not that many hams chew them though!

I'd love one of the pouches for Evey
I made the pattern freehand, and I used corset boning. I bought 8mm but I think I'd go thicker next time I order some.

I've read that fluffy bedding post, it's awful! I think I'll swap back to kitchen roll to be on the safe side Would you like to be one of my testers? Send me a PM!

As I can't resist, this is what an unimpressed reaction to a snuggle pouch looks like

I was informed the other day that you aren't supposed to give them kitchen roll either. Apparently toilet roll is better because if they do eat it then it breaks down better than the kitchen towel.
I have been experimenting with crocheting hammocks for my hammies, although I haven't finished them yet. They do like climbing all over the place though so hopefully when I do get round to finishing them they will be appreciated and not chewed!

If you need any more test people..... =P

I think they are adorable! I have tried hammocks, but everyone chewed them so they have plastic sputniks now instead.
I havent tried it with dwarves, mr humph was a lot less chewwy then syrians, so maybe a snuggie for a dwarf would be ok? only for a single tho.
I think its really cute! i have seen a hanging hammock done in material like this too!

I use toilet roll its safer and and its easy to have at hand plus they have the card inners

I made Darwin a hammock by weaving sisal rope. There is a DIY that I found on this forum.

He loves his hammock...sits in it all the time, especially when he wants his yummy yogurt treats

Thanks all! I was always told not to use toilet roll as it's easier swallowed, now I know better! HC is the font of all hamster based knowledge! More bed pics coming soon!
